Katie Kunec Gjerulff, Vice President
Katie manages strategic planning, media relations, ally development, event coordination and executive visibility for corporate clients, trade associations, nonprofit organizations and government entities. Currently, she develops and executes positioning and outreach activities targeting media, stakeholders and other influencers for Weight Watchers, the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
For Weight Watchers, she manages initiatives to elevate the company's position as a leading authority on the issues of obesity, weight management and prevention of weight-related diseases including heart disease and type-2 diabetes in the United States. She is working to position the coming-soon Anschutz Health and Wellness Center and its leaders as innovators in developing and advancing models to help individuals, organizations and communities achieve and sustain healthier lifestyles.
For CMS, Katie manages public education campaigns around various Medicare programs and initiatives. Previously, she worked with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) on a campaign to elevate the Blue brand by promoting key programs for improving healthcare costs, access and quality. She also managed BCBSA’s National Walk@Lunch Day and Capitol Hill Challenge, two workplace wellness initiatives that encourage individuals to add regular physical activity to their daily routine.
Katie has generated significant exposure for her clients, including placements in the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and NPR.
