Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
Since 2005, Powell Tate has worked with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to develop and implement integrated marketing programs that increase understanding of – and access to – quality, affordable healthcare.
To reach and prompt action among our target audiences, we utilize a broad range of communications tactics. To promote Medicare open enrollment, we heavily utilized paid advertising, including an enhanced digital buy, which drove awareness levels to a record high. We also organized regional healthcare fraud summits with HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Attorney General Eric Holder and live tweeted (a first for CMS) from the most recent event. The partnership we forged with the Walgreen’s Way to Well Tour allows CMS regional staff to talk with Medicare and Medicaid populations about prevention at local events around the country.
Currently, we are working with CMS on the landmark implementation of the Health Insurance Marketplace, the federally facilitated exchange that will offer millions of uninsured Americans access to more affordable health insurance. We developed a strategic plan and began a digital advertising and social media campaign to lay the groundwork for Open Enrollment, which started October 1, 2013. Our work also included advertising, public relations and social media with a heavy emphasis on developing content that speaks to young uninsured adults 18-34.
