For the Corporation for Public Broadcasting we developed a
creative national platform that local TV and radio stations use
to demonstrate their value to communities.
Corporation for Public Broadcasting
Powell Tate was retained by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to develop and implement a public awareness initiative to promote the value of public media. Our team worked closely with CPB to design a national initiative, My Source, that captures the stories and testimonies of real viewers and listeners. It is usable and adaptable at the local level and works seamlessly across various media.
We developed the guidelines, tools and resources to enable local public broadcasting stations to easily incorporate My Source into their existing activities, including fundraising efforts. On a national level, we supported CPB in recruiting politicians, celebrities and other national figures who value public broadcasting to share their stories. Former President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Barbara Bush recorded My Source testimonials, along with Kevin Bacon, Rita Moreno, Brad Paisley, Julia Stiles, Kerry Washington and dozens more well-known figures. More than 200 stations in all 50 states utilize My Source in their communications efforts. Nearly 500 testimonials have been collected from celebrities, political figures and the general public.
