Thomas Jefferson Foundation
Powell Tate has been working with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (TJF) since 2008 on several media relations programs, including the opening of the new Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center and Smith Education Center, the annual July 4th Naturalization Ceremony, opening new exhibitions on the house grounds and in partnership with the National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian Institution, and celebrating their annual Heritage Harvest Festival.
Powell Tate has supported messaging and strategy sessions, served as the TJF press office, coordinated high-profile media opportunities, and has built media relations programs that raise local and national awareness of Monticello through feature and travel media coverage across multiple outlet channels.
Through our work with TJF, Powell Tate has places stories in the Associated Press, USA Today, Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN.com among others. Coverage has also included a four-minute segment BBC World News and a live in-studio segment on “The Today Show,” in addition to commentary pieces on Slate.com, and coverage on multiple travel and education blogs.
